91WW | So for many wine aficionados, Petite Sirah often goes unnoticed as a lesser Rhône grape variety. I have always enjoyed a fondness for Petite Sirah as a satisfying red wine to drink. While the 2014 Vina Robles is one of the top examples in the marketplace. TASTING NOTES: Vina Robles Petite Sirah 2014 shows up with loads of richness from start to finish. Most of all, enjoy its ripe black fruit and finely textured palate with grilled pork ribs.
Winemaker Kevin Willenborg | From Petrus to Paso
Kevin Willenborg is a versatile winemaker who has over 28 years of extensive experience working in key regions such as Bordeaux, Napa Valley, Sonoma, British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, as well as California’s Central Coast. A graduate of the University of California at Davis, his fast-paced career started with an internship at Chateau Petrus in 1984, which provided him with a great introduction into the industry’s traditions and philosophy. Ever since he has enjoyed shaping world-class wines from the ground to glass. “Each wine has its own life. That life begins with the planting and development of the vines. It is then transferred from the earth through the vine as the grapes are harvested, crushed, fermented into wine and eventually bottled. The role of the winemaker is to respectfully steward this life with care and attention to detail.”.

One that led winery founder Hans Nef from a rural village outside of Zurich, Switzerland to the rugged terrain of California’s Central Coast. Hence, I want Vina Robles to express a unique balance of European heritage and American opportunity. As individuals, we are rooted in the Old World. Hence, as viticulturists and winemakers, we are empowered by the New World.”
Since 2012, all estate vineyards our Sustainability in Practice (SIP) certified.
