Tensley Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard 2019 | ‘Elegant – 2 decades of longevity’ 96pts Jeb Dunnuck
Tensley Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard 2019 presents an intensely deep shade of purple in the glass. A meaty mélange of aromas meet you on the nose. While enjoying blackberry, blueberry, smoke, cracked peppercorn, freshly picked wild herbs, coriander, and notes of charcuterie. Super-dense and concentrated, framed by chewy tannins, it’s broad-shouldered but not big—a nimble beast displaying black fruit, spice, and smoked meat flavors in spades, and sliding into a super-long and meaty finish. Blind, this could easily be mistaken for a top-tier Côte-Rôtie—it’s that good. Drink 2021 – 2038.
