Tensley Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard 2018 presents a Brooding, dark, black-purple in color. While aromas of smoked meat, stewed blackberries, blueberries, dried herbs, clove, cracked pepper, and toasted vanilla fill the air. Highly concentrated, with firm, fine tannins. And a palate loaded with fresh blackberry, black plum, and a myriad of spices and smoke. The finish is massive but also balanced. Most of all, in a blind tasting, it could easily pass for top-quality Northern Rhône.

98JD | The deepest colored Syrah in the lineup. the Tensley Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard 2018 comes from a great vineyard located in the hills above the town of Los Olivos. Awesome notes of blackberries, toasted spice (there’s some new oak in this wine), ground herbs, peppered meat, and earth all flow to a full-bodied, concentrated, deep, layered wine that has plenty of tannins, good acidity, and a huge finish. It’s a magical Syrah from Tensley, and my money is on it being the finest to date.
