Renwood Winery
Renwood was founded by Robert Smerling founded in 1993 in Plymouth, California’s Gold Country. However, Renwood has become so closely associated with great old-vine Zinfandel that the winery seems much older. Today Renwood grows and sources grapes from over 400 rolling acres in Amador County. So producing amazing Zinfandel is the specialty. Yet Renwood creates wonderful Petite Sirah, Alicante, Mourvèdre, and Barbera as well.
Amazing Red Gems under $35
Situated in the picturesque Amador County of northern California, Renwood Winery is surrounded by the rolling hills and rushing streams of California’s gold country. So, Renwood was established in 1993 and is one of the most respected wine producers in the Sierra Foothills. Old-vine Amador Zinfandel and Barbera are the showstoppers at this storied estate.
Winemaker Joe Shebl | International Flavor
Originally established in 1993, in 2012 we became part of a privately-held, family-owned international portfolio of wineries. While including properties in the Mendoza region of Argentina, Uruguay, France’s Bordeaux, and Tuscany in Italy.
So this international flavor gives Joe Shebl an amazing opportunity to share concepts on winemaking with colleagues from around the globe. Notably, while including renowned winemakers Carlos Pulenta of Argentina and Italian Alberto Antonini. But, for Joe, his focus remains squarely on handcrafting zesty and opulent Zinfandels. As well as a few specialty varietals from the Amador County region. Most of all, don’t miss Joe’s Renwood Indian Creek Vineyard Zinfandel 2016.
