Pompier Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 | Tastes like winery’s $100 wines
Pompier Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 presents pristine ruby in color. Initially reserved, the nose opens to reveal complex tones of bing cherry, chocolate, red currant, and crushed rose petals, shrouded in notes of vanillin and pie spice. Rich, with a sinewy muscularity and refined satin touch to its tannins, the mid-palate is packed with red cherry, raspberry, and mocha. The deft balance lends the wine a subtle intensity, neither too broad nor too lean, leading to a long finish of ripe fruit and vanillin. Drink now-2023
Exclusive Inaugural Bottling | Charity Based Release
Now, after another four months resting in the bottle in our temperature controlled warehouse, we’d like to make a big to-do about it. Therefore, the Pompier Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, our inaugural bottling of this label, is the first in a long line of special charity-based releases. What we can’t tell you is who our winery partner. But we can say it is a benchland estate that has impressed Robert Parker, Antonio Galloni and James Suckling. Most of all earning more than a dozen scores between 90-96 points in the last five vintages.
More exciting Red Gems under $35
The 2015 Pompier Cabernet Sauvignon is a robust, fruit-driven, and classically styled red a la the best in Napa. The bottle for when you just need a glass of wine—one that’s both affordable and delicious, whether it’s a perfectly marbled Ribeye or takeout on the table. Pompier is built on a gorgeous lot of St. Helena Cabernet with all the pedigree of a top single-vineyard release, minus the sticker shock. Bold and full of class, with deeply concentrated black and red fruit, chocolate, and spice, rich and creamy, with fine-grained tannins, this wine was made possible thanks to our deep connections here in Napa.
Support for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation
What we can tell you is in the spirit of charity, they offered us a gorgeous lot of St. Helena Cabernet with all the pedigree of one of their single-vineyard $100 releases. Bold and full of class, with deeply concentrated black and red fruit, chocolate, and spice. In addition, the 2015 takes after the 11,000 First-Responders who inspired it. Including firefighters from all over the world, who battled last October’s fires in Napa and Sonoma. Rich and creamy, with fine-grained tannins. Hence, these barrels would have been totally out of reach were it not for the intention and spirit of this collaboration to show our appreciation.
