Poiema Pinot Noir 2017 | Over-delivering Edna Valley Gem
On a night of Pinot pursuit, we first tried the Poiema Pinot Noir Edna Valley 2017 wondering what this Edna Valley bottling might offer. First, opening with dark fruit, we expected a nice light sipper. As the conversations evolved, so did the 2017. And the wine just kept getting bigger with an elegant finish lasting past the appetizers. While good acidity complemented the cheese and hummus presenting a quandary as to which Pinot to feature at dinner. Most of all, enjoy this over-delivering Poiema Pinot Noir Edna Valley 2017 with Poultry & roasted meats or salmon burgers. Drink now-2023+.

SLO Wine Country | Sant Lucia Mountains to Edna Valley
Poiema Wines are where art and science collide. Masterfully crafted from the beautiful Santa Lucia Highlands, our wines are true reflections of the terroir and in themselves a work of art.
Edna Valley, in the heart of SLO Wine Country, is California’s coolest winegrowing region. It’s located just 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The northwest-to-southwest orientation of the Edna Valley creates a direct path for cool marine air to filter into the valley from the Los Osos/Morro Bay area. This climate, combined with the calcareous and volcanic soils results in wines with intensity, concentration and fresh, balancing acidity. Most of all perfect for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and aromatic white wines.
