Kata Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 | Compelling, Rich, Concentrated
Kata Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 is deep opaque ruby/black. Exuding opulent aromas of violets, rose petal, boysenberry, blueberry, and crushed rocks. In addition fills every corner of the palate, with full and supple tannins. Finally a broad mouthfeel, round acidity, and notes of dark chocolate, blueberry, spiced plums, clove, and allspice. Drink now-2030. A gem from Winemaker David Beckstoffer.
97AG | The Kata Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 is dark, unctuous and fabulously concentrated. Blueberry jam, crème de cassis, bittersweet chocolate, menthol, licorice, and cloves infuse this unctuous, full-bodied Cabernet. While the 85% new oak is already well integrated. Most of all another compelling, full-throttle wine from David Beckstoffer and Benoit Touquette.
95WA | While containing 20% Petite Sirah, the Kata Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 displays a very deep purple-black color. And is profoundly scented of crème de cassis, chocolate box, prunes and Indian spices with touches of dried Provence herbs, anise, and raisin cake. Furthermore big, rich, full-bodied and concentrated in the mouth. Yet the Petite Sirah certainly makes its presence known. While contributing a bit of chew to the ripe, grainy Cabernet tannins. And offering lingering exotic spice and Christmas pudding notions on the finish.
Kata Wine – Highly Allocated & Collectible
Highly allocated and highly collectible. from one of the most pedigreed vineyards in Napa. aND made by one of the Valley’s true greats—that’s the story of Kata Cabernet Sauvignon. So just ask Antonio Galloni, who recently wrote, “I still remember the first time I tasted Kata before the first vintage was released. It was a super-distinctive wine back then, as it is today.”
Galloni backed up his words with a 97-point score for the Kata Cabernet Sauvignon 2015. Calling it “dark, unctuous and fabulously concentrated.” Made by Benoit Touquette, the legendary figure behind the world-class wines at Realm, Fait-Main, Teeter-Totter, and Hartwell.
