Easily the best vintage of this cuvee to date, it has a killer bouquet of olive tapenade, grounded, peppered meats and a core of darker fruits. Medium to full-bodied, seamless, elegant and with fine tannin, it’s terrific and will drink nicely for 10-15 years.
WE 94 | The K Vintners Syrah Morrison Lane delivers kirsch, wet stone, lavender and dried herb aromas are followed by ripe jazzy generous dark-fruit flavors. Fine-grained tannins provide support, with a supple mouthfeel piquing the interest.
WS 93 | Smooth and round, with black olive and meaty overtones to the blackberry and plum flavors, while finishing with harmony and presence.
K Vintners Syrah
Located at the base of the Blue Mountains in Walla Walla Washington. K Vintners opened its doors to the public on December 3rd, 2001. Homesteading the property in 1853 with the adjacent farmhouse built in 1872. Titus Creek flows through the winery grounds. Hence, with the old pioneer planted trees, it is a little slice of heartland Americana.
The Winemaker: He loves to drink wine! Charles Smith, proprietor, and winemaker comes to Walla Walla after 11 years in Scandinavia. Originally from northern California, he has been involved with wine personally and professionally his whole life. And did we forget to mention… he loves to drink wine!
The Vineyards: K Vintners produces wines from 2 distinctive viticultural zones: Wahluke Slope and Walla Walla Valley. K Vintners Syrah demonstrates the unique and awesome Syrah resultant from these Field Blends.
Planting two separate blocks of Syrah vineyards in April ’02 adjacent to the winery which are located in the rocky dry creek beds that run through K Vintners property.
