I Giusti and Zanza Nemorino Rosso | 93JS | rich and spicy red, long finish | organic
93 Points James Suckling: I Giusti and Zanza Nemorino Rosso is a rich and spicy red with plenty of dried berries and dried orange peel character. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins deliver a long, flavorful finish. Better in 2019. Made from organic grapes.
Wine of great immediacy, of an intense purple color. The profile is dominated by Syrah and Sangiovese, marasca cherry and mammola violet. The tannin is light and the finish is long while leaving the palate dry and round. Excellent with aperitivo and pasta dishes. It also matches well white or red meat dishes, cooked or grilled.
Components The Red Nemorino’s composition varies slightly from vintage to vintage. It is primarily composed of Syrah (about 60%), with additions of Merlot and Sangiovese, as well as small shares of Alicante.
About I Giusti and Zanza
At the time when Paolo Edoardo Giusti and Fabio Zanza first began in 1995, the area of Scopicci, known for its rolling hills, was witnessing a rebirth of new ideas and innovating thinking. This transforms the way wine was being produced there. The 9.5-hectare estate rests on the hills of Scopicci while run by one of Italy’s premier agaricologists, Stefano Chioccioli. A rarity in Italy, Stefano specializes both in the vineyard and the winery.
