The Head High Red Blend 2014 is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Malbec, Tempranillo, and other dark-fruited red grapes. While the wine is sourced partially from Bill Price’s coveted Durell Vineyard and winemaker Sam Spencer’s Madder Lake plot. Most notably having precisely everything we want in a spring and summertime grill wine. As a result, rich and dense, with a sturdy tannic backbone, smoothed out by 10 months in French oak. Yet complex enough to keep you intrigued at every sip, but juicy enough to be gulped down without ceremony. Most importantly, the 1,500 mL bottle is big enough to attract friends and to serve as a hedge against coming up short.
