93+ AG Vinous | Powerful and sumptuous, the Anderson Conn Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve 2015 shows the natural richness and intensity of the year in its super-ripe fruit. First, the huge, potent tannins need time to settle down, that much is clear. Next, readers should expect a sumptuous, super-ripe style. While this is the first vintage in which the Estate Reserve benefits from the presence of an entry-level Napa Valley Cabernet bottling. Hence, today, the 2015 is a bit compact. It should blossom nicely with more time in the cellar.

94+ Jeb Dennuck | The Anderson Conn Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve 2015 is a smokin’ good blend. Consisting of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot. While its deep purple/plum color is followed by a terrific perfume of blackcurrants, nori (seaweed wrapper), dark chocolate and licorice, and it develops more minerality with time in the glass. Rich, full-bodied, concentrated and structured, it has sweet tannin, a great mid-palate, and a big finish. It’s still youthful and backward, and needs 3-4 years to show at its best, but will keep for two decades.

Founder & Winemaker Todd Anderson
So, after graduating from the University of Pacific in Stockton, CA with a degree in Geology Todd went to work for a small geophysical firm that was on the cutting edge of technology for seismic oil and gas exploration. Todd soon realized the corporate world was not for him. Although he loved the industry he was in, he continually had thoughts of the outdoors and getting back in touch with the soil. These thoughts, along with the mention from his parents of starting a “small vineyard. And that’s what led to the creation of Anderson’s Conn Valley Vineyards.
