WBOTD: The best Turley and Old Vines Zinfandel can offer – amazing value
90 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: “The 2015 Turley Old Vines Zinfandel s is a fabulous introduction to the Turley Wine Cellars range. Succulent red cherry, plum, smoke, licorice, tobacco and menthol infuse this fleshy, succulent Zinfandel. All the elements are in the right place. This is an absolutely delicious wine, with plenty to recommend it, including its price.” 12/16

About Turley Wine Cellars
Turley Wine Cellars was founded in 1993 by Larry Turley and makes thirty-four wines. The vast majority are single vineyard designate Zinfandels and Petite Syrahs. By focusing on old vine vineyards, in particular, Turley aims to both create and preserve California’s unique winemaking culture.
All of Turley’s vineyards are either certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers or somewhere in the process, and the winery uses all natural yeasts in the fermentation.
Turley aims to be stewards of some of California’s most distinctive vineyards, producing authentic wines that reflect their heritage.
Old Vines is composed of a variety of old sites from California. They are either too small to be made into a vineyard designate wine or are “new” to the Turley family. Vines are anywhere from 41 to 129 years old. A true representation of California old vine Zinfandel, hailing from vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Lodi, Contra Costa, Amador and Paso Robles.
