Our love affair (and yours) with the wines of Lewis Cellars continues unabated.  Hence, we can’t seem to keep the wines in stock. Luckily for us, Randy, Dennis, and the rest of team Lewis keep making more wine every year. They’re unrestrained, voluptuous wines that consistently score in the mid-to-high 90s.

Those characteristics run throughout the winery’s lineup.  While few wineries perform as consistently as Lewis.” – Wine Spectator.  So, Randy Lewis spent a 23-year career pushing personal and mechanical limits as a race car driver.  While beginning as a Formula 3 driver in Europe. That’s where he fell in love with fine wine. He founded Lewis Cellars in 1992, and today he and his winemaker Josh Widaman, formerly of Pahlmeyer, are making the best wines in the history of the estate.

With a B.S. in Viticulture & Enology from UC Davis, Josh brings 15 years of winemaking experience to Lewis, where he is a large and ever-smiling presence.  Josh came to us from Pahlmeyer where he had been the winemaker.  While his previous experience includes 4 years as assistant winemaker at Chimney Rock Winery.  Plus multiple roles at Stags’ Leap Winery, Gloria Ferrer, and Viña Tarapaca in Chile.
