Idiosyncrasy Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2016 | Exclusive Napa Cabernet Reserve
Idiosyncrasy Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2016 presents a black core in the glass with a deep purple rim. Brooding aromas of black cherry, blueberry, pomegranate, pie spice, violets, and baking chocolate open invitingly with some air. Luscious on the palate, its silken, fine-grained tannins belie the full body and rich intensity of blackberry compote, tobacco, and vanilla flavors, all melding seamlessly on the finish. Fans of big Cabernets will find it almost too easy to drink, great value for collectors, priced to enjoy regularly, but structured to improve in the cellar. Drink now-2028.
More Sensational Cellar Selections
We are excited to bring you this exclusive label crafted by our friend, the decorated winemaker Julien Fayard. Fayard crafted Cabernets can cost a mint, so how are we able to bring this to you for such an amazing price? Because part of the beauty of Idiosyncrasy Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2016 is what it doesn’t involve. Hence, no marketers and no middlemen clamoring for their cut. So, according to Fayard, making a great, affordable Napa Cabernet requires two main things. First, sourcing, and skill. We obviously have that covered. For the second, we’ve got Fayard.
Winemaker Julien Fayard
Cabernet Sauvignon is Fayard’s forte, and his C.V. reads like the inventory of a Cabernet lover’s dream cellar: He worked at Château Lafite and Château Smith Haut Lafitte in Bordeaux before setting his sights on Napa, where he has worked with Philippe Melka on projects like Gemstone, Dalla Valle, and Lail. These projects provided Fayard with a deep understanding of the Valley’s vineyards, and the proof is in the performance of his own wines, which have made legions of fans out of our customers.

His highly allocated Purlieu wines have found themselves a permanent home in Robert Parker’s stratospheric 96-99-point range, and Le Pich, Fayard’s $50 Napa Cabernet, is one of the highest-rated wines ever on Wine Access.
Heralded 2016 Napa Valley Vintage
The Idiosyncrasy Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2016 hails from a vintage that Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate hailed as “outstanding. Fayard calls 2016 “ripe and seductive. It’s sexy and soft, with supple tannins that make it perfect for early drinking. Take home a case, crack open a bottle straight out of the box, and we know you’ll be as thrilled as we are that we are finally able to say it: Idiosyncrasy is here.
