91WE | Rich, ripe and oaky – a lot of fun to drink with red meat.
Winemaker Notes | Known for taking the road less traveled, Michael David Winery has always stood apart from the crowd. Whether it be their outlandish brands and packaging or their quirky personalities, Michael and David are definitely on a stage of their own and this wine showcases just that.
Over each vintage, the intensity has been kicked up exponentially. This incarnation has more of everything… more depth, more ripe fruit, more pizazz! Nicely balanced with fruit (pomegranate) and oak (showing some smoke). Warning – it’s gulpable!
91 points | Wine Enthusiast Rich, ripe and oaky, this full-bodied wine has loads of sweet blackberry and black cherry flavors, with generous doses of oak spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, wood smoke and dark chocolate. It’s bold but complex and will be a lot of fun to drink with red meat.
