The Emina wineries prioritize the sustainability of their buildings. First, Emina began introducing sustainable practices by installing solar panel energy generation systems (both thermal and photovoltaic).  Then adding furnaces for utilizing biomass, Waste Water Treatment Stations (to help to recycle water) and charging stations.  Finally, the wineries also make full use of natural light, as well as all the parts of the grape. Hence, Emina Ribera is a prime example of eco-sustainable construction, generating energy for its own consumption.

So, Emina was established in 1995 in San Bernardo, in the center of Ribera del Duero’s golden mile. Owners come from a family that has been linked to the world of wine for more than 800 years. The name Emina is an homage to the Cistercian monks of the Monastery of Saint Mary of Valbuena.   While founded in the XII century, that is only meters away from Emina winery.
