First, the name Antica originates from the words Antinori and California.  Therefore representing the Antinori family’s longstanding desire to craft exceptional estate wines that are a true expression of Napa Valley terroir.

Turns out that Antica Estate is nestled in a valley.  Here, because of the natural geology, benefits from a wind-tunnel effect.  Hence funneling crisp air from the San Pablo Bay up toward their vines. As a result, those cooling currents allow the berries to develop fully from their sunny, mountaintop location above the fog line without over-ripening.
