Anthill Farms Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2016 | Rock Stars of Pinot
Anthill Farms Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2016 displays a full deep garnet hue. Heady perfumed aromas of fresh picked black raspberry and tart black cherry. Crushed rose petals, Chinese five spice, and candied licorice add complexities. Vibrant red berry fruit throughout the core palate with holiday brown spice and pepper spice. Alluring and high-toned, just what you’d expect from a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Flashy and open knit for immediate enjoyment and will lay down for another 4 to 5 years. Drink now to 2023.
93 Decanter | From the relative wilderness of the northerly Anderson Valley, Anthill Farms Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2016 shows tart redcurrant and Morello cherry with a lovely marzipan edge on the nose. Concentrated, bright fruit is almost iridescent on the palate, with shimmering nuances of freshness and an edge of brooding
92 Vinous | The Anthill Farms Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2016 is endowed with terrific depth in this vintage. Beautifully expressive and resonant, offering notable richness in its succulent red cherry, plum and spice nuances. This open-knit, juicy Pinot will drink well with minimum cellaring. This is a fabulous appellation-level Pinot.
Anthill Farms Winery | Concentrated Bright & Vibrant
This is how some of California’s most in-demand wineries have started out. A team of young talented winemakers, coveted vineyard locations, and plain hard work.
The winery started out as a passion project between three friends passionate about Northern Coast Pinot, making 250 cases in their first vintage in 2004 with $9,000 from their own pockets. While production remains extremely limited today, with total cases per year topping out around 1,400. It’s only due to a longtime relationship—The French Laundry was one of the first to carry Anthill when Sur Lucero MS was a sommelier there—that we were able to secure you an allocation of some of this highly coveted, luscious Sonoma Pinot.
Anderson Valley Pinot Noir | Transparent Graceful Pinot
In a New York Times tasting of Anderson Valley Pinot Noirs, Anthill came in at #1, as well as the best value. So Antonio Galloni regards their releases as “some of the most distinctive wines being made in California today. While Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate ranks them among “the most transparent, graceful Pinots” in the state. SF Gate claims they have a formula “for producing some of California’s most compelling single-vineyard Pinots. Finally, the Wall Street Journal calls Anthill Farms h the “rock stars of Pinot.
